OUR STORY

Big Jake’s Bar-B-Que owner, Matthew Palmer, began working in BBQ at the age of 16 while still in high school. Since then he’s worked with the best pit masters in East Texas learning everything from seasoning, cutting, catering, and cleaning the BBQ pits.

Through hard work and dedication, he purchased his first location at the age of 21, and the Big Jake’s Bar-B-Que brand was born. The first Big Jake’s Bar-B-Que was located on Hwy 82 in a renovated old Dairy Queen building. The overwhelming demand from our customers for additional locations prompted the opening of more stores.

We currently have stores in Texas: Texarkana and Nash, and Arkansas: Texarkana, Hope, and Ashdown. Through the years Big Jake’s Bar-B-Que has become a BBQ cult favorite delighting the taste buds of BBQ lovers from all over Ark-La-Tex.
